Please read these instructions and ask questions as needed

Regulations:

No formaldehyde or other embalming chemicals

No concrete vaults

Biodegradable casket or shroud only

Headstones should be at ground level to avoid damage to the stones and mowing equipment, and approved by the OKMH committee

Interment procedure: Note dimensions of plot marked out.  The OKMH committee will provide a graphic map of plots and paths so that the digger knows how to avoid infringing on adjacent burial sites.  Dig out plants and set aside in plastic pots provided behind bench under the Norway spruce. Whenever possible, committee members will endeavor to replant them elsewhere.  Shift wood chip mulch onto adjacent plots.  Spread the provided tarp (under bench at edge of Norway spruce facing meadow) next to the grave site and dig up soil and place on the tarp.  The soil should be dug up with the plot parameters to a depth of 3.5 ft. It does not need to be 6 ft., in fact should not.  Please endeavor to save any remaining plants on the gravesite and keep harm to adjacent plots to a minimum.

Construction equipment should stay on the paths and should not be parked under the tree driplines. All the soil must be replaced over the grave.  It will mound up initially but over time will settle.  The plants then should be replanted in the soil, and mulch can be spread back over the top.   The OKMH committee will bring additional mulch to cover the soil thickly and will add additional plants.  A mini excavator with small footprint equipment is highly recommended as larger equipment cannot navigate the rows without damaging graves.  One local excavator who has consistently dug graves correctly is:
